Jakarta, 7 July 2020 - TAUZIA Hotels, a member of The Ascott Limited, announces the launch of ‘Ascott Cares’, to deliver stringent hygiene and cleanliness standards as well as safe distancing to continue to provide safe stays for its guests and a safe working environment for its staff.
“The safety of our guests and colleagues has always been our top priority,” said Patrick Vaysse, TAUZIA Hotels Chief Operating Officer, “The implementation of ‘Ascott Cares’ ensures that our hotels are well-equipped to deliver high standards of cleanliness to welcome guests back when they are ready to travel. Some of these measures include increased room and public areas sanitation, regular temperature screenings, and the use of personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves for staff. With ‘Ascott Cares’, we aim to assure our guests of safety during their stay with us.”
The ‘Ascott Cares’ initiative covers nine commitments to maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness standards to give guests and employees full confidence and a greater peace of mind. Safe physical distancing will be part of the new normal as the layout of furniture may be rearranged to provide comfort and facilitate a smoother flow of traffic in shared spaces. Digital solutions will be deployed to minimise contact while providing added convenience and safety to guests. These include the implementation of cashless and contactless payment methods and introduction of QR codes to access menus, welcome letters, room directory, and other hotel information. Enhanced HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) training will also be conducted to improve the supply chain visibility and ensure food safety.
The nine commitments included in the ‘Ascott Cares’ initiative are:
1. Our Staff’s Work Environment
Staff will be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) and undergo regular temperature screenings at staff entrance and exit locations.
2. Guest Safety
Guests are to provide health and travel declarations and undergo temperature checks upon entry of the hotel where applicable and required by local authorities.
3. Physical Distancing
Number of guests will be limited in high touch zones and at other shared facilities, with permanent floor markers as visual guide for guests to follow.
Increased disinfection and cleaning frequencies at all high touch public areas including guest room and in-room amenities.
Protocols are in place to ensure high hygiene standards. Maximum room capacity will be strictly enforced.
6. Food and Beverages
All kitchen, service and stewarding team members are to wear protective gear. Updated in-room dining and minibar procedures to ensure safe distancing and minimise direct human contact.
7. Shared Facilities
Updated rules and regulations specific to each facility to meet the enhanced commitment to hygiene, cleanliness and physical distancing.
8. Contactless and Paperless
Use of contactless check-in and check-out processes and reduce the use of paper amenities such as guest directory or in-room dining menu.
9. Our Vendors
Follow strict measures during deliveries, including temperature check for delivery personnel and providing contact details for contact tracing (implementation may vary depending on local regulations).
The comprehensive procedures that are in compliance with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and local regulations will be rolled out in all TAUZIA Hotels starting from July 2020. For more information on ‘Ascott Cares’, please visit tauzia.com/ascott-cares
In conjunction with the implementation of ‘Ascott Cares’, TAUZIA Hotels is also adopting the ‘Safe Travels’ global protocol and stamp issued by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). Companies which have successfully implemented the ‘Safe Travels’ protocols will receive a stamp from WTTC for display. This stamp allows travellers to identify companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardised protocols, so
they can experience ‘Safe Travels’. Guests may look for properties within TAUZIA Hotels network with the ‘Safe Travels’ stamp as a sign of assurance of the heightened hygiene and safety standards implemented.
